Kids Yoga at the Zoo

Stretch, Learn, Breathe and Play with Polka Dot Kids Yoga!
Join certified children’s yoga instructor, Lynda Jacobvitz, as we explore age appropriate yoga poses and creative movement through music, games and storytelling.   This mini yoga series will take place at the Buttonwood Park Zoo.   All classes must be pre-registered and prepaid as space is limited.
Kids Yoga
(Ages 5-10)
*Parent or caregiver must stay on Zoo grounds during the yoga class.  They can choose to participate, watch, stroll the Zoo or enjoy a coffee in the café.

Yogi Says, “It’s Game Day!” Saturday, February 4th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Join Yogi for action packed hour of group games and partner poses. Yogi Says and Sherlock Om’s will be some of the highlights. You will strengthen your ability to focus and build concentration and teamwork skills in this fun and engaging class!
Jogging Through the Jungle Saturday, February 18th from 11:00 – 12:00 PM Grab your safari hats and binoculars and get ready to explore the Jungle! On our adventure you will become a lion, a crocodile and so much more! You will also learn snake breath to help keep your cool. This is one wild adventure that you will never forget!

Zoo Yoga meets in the Wildlife Education Building.  Please bring a bottle of water and wear comfortable clothing.  A yoga mat or towel is required for the kids yoga class, but not the preschool class. (Ages 3-5)

Old McYogi Had a Farm Wednesday, February 1st from 1:30 – 2:30 PM  Come meet Old McYogi and his animal friends. “Moo” like a cow and gallop like a horse on the farm. Then wind down and make an apple pie with Mrs. McYogi as you practice mindfulness and breathing techniques.
Jogging Through the Jungle Saturday, February 18th from 9:30 – 10:30 AM Grab your safari hats and binoculars and get ready to explore the Jungle! Playground Adventures Tuesday, March 14th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM
Slide, swing and balance at the yoga playground.  You will join your yoga friends in making a “down dog tunnel” and playing on a partner “see-saw.” Finish with a relaxing picnic underneath the shade of the trees.

HOWL

The Buttonwood Park Zoological Society’s is excited to announce a new Halloween event called HOWL!  This 21+ event will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 7-10 PM.  It will be a night of mischief and mayhem at the Zoo.  The evening will include live music in our Grooveyard by Johnny’s Basement, wicked cocktails located throughout the Zoo, twisted street performers, animal encounters and frightfully delicious food truck offerings.  Don’t forget your costume!
Proceeds from HOWL will be used to support the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society in their efforts to enhance the Zoo’s animal care, education and conservation programs.
Discounted tickets are available for ONLY $20 thru September 15, 2016.
Price:  $25 Members, $30 Non-Members

It’s a Zoo Out There Golf Tournament

Join us for the It’s a Zoo Out There – Golf Tournament to benefit the Buttonwood Park Zoo’s Nature Connection Center on Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Country Club of New Bedford in Dartmouth, MA. The event will include a 4-person scramble, buffet lunch and dinner reception following the golf portion.  Participants have the option of registering for the entire tournament or the dinner reception only.
