The Buttonwood Park Zoo is temporarily closed to visitors, as we do our part to encourage social distancing and curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). You – our visitors, our members, our community – are very important to us and we want to stay connected! Here are just three of the ways you can still get your daily dose of BPZOO, and maybe even learn something new!
Virtual Keeper Chats
While kids are home from school and Zoo is closed, we want to continue connecting you to the animals you love through educational videos each afternoon. Join us for a Facebook Live virtual keeper chat each day at 11am, where you can spend time with our keeper staff and animals, ask questions and learn from home.
Check out our YouTube channel to view each Virtual Chat, plus many more videos!
It is more important than ever to find ways for your family to handle the added stress. We all have a tool right in our backyards – nature! Check in daily on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter a variety of nature connection activities – ideas and suggestions that families can do together outside to alleviate stress. Be sure to share your stories and photos with us on how it went!
Virtual Field Trips
An innovative and unique way for students to interact in real time with animals and staff at the BPZOO without leaving the house! Virtual Field Trips are interactive, multimedia, and employ the use of live animals, live exhibit footage and/or Science On a Sphere® demonstrations to provide real world context to science lessons.
