Membership Terms & Conditions

ABOUT YOUR MEMBERSHIP

Members of the Buttonwood Park Zoological Society (“BPZS”) are entitled to unlimited admission to the Buttonwood Park Zoo (“Zoo”) during regular operating hours for the duration of the one (1) year Membership term. Please check the Zoo’s website (bpzoo.org) for current hours of operation and closure dates.

Memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable and are only valid for the individuals named on the Membership card. All individuals associated with the Membership must reside in the same household. Verification of age or identity may be required at the time of purchase or to gain admission into the Zoo. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Membership discounts and benefits are subject to change at any time. Special events may be subject to restricted access and/or additional fees.

A valid Membership must be presented at the time of entry. If you forget your Membership card, our staff will honor the Membership with a courtesy lookup when presented with valid identification. Individuals entering the Zoo grant permission to the Zoo and their agents to use their images and/or sound recordings for any purpose whatsoever in perpetuity. Members also agree not to commercially use any photography or recordings in any form taken at the Zoo. BPZS is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property. Parking is free, subject to availability and is done at your own risk.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Visitor Safety:  Rails, rocks, fencing and other barriers between you and the animals are there for your safety and to protect the animals from harm.  Please do not lean over the rails, lift anyone over the rails, play on rocks, rest on the railings, or place any part of your body, including, but not limited to, your fingers, arms or legs, through fences or barriers.  You are prohibited from entering non-public areas.

Smoking:  For the health and safety of our visitors, staff and animals, smoking and the use of tobacco products is prohibited within the Zoo.

Attire:  Proper attire including shirts and shoes are required.

Solicitation and Promotion:  The Zoo respects the right to free speech and provides designated areas outside the Zoo entrance. Canvassing and solicitation are prohibited on Zoo grounds.

Pets:  All pets are prohibited on Zoo grounds except for service animals as defined by the ADA.  All service animals must be on a leash and kept under control at all times.  Service animals may be taken off leash while performing the specific tasks they are trained for. Please do not leave pets unattended anywhere on Zoo grounds or in your vehicle.

Zoo Animals:  Please show respect for the Zoo’s inhabitants and refrain from banging on enclosures or windows, throwing objects into exhibits, harassing or teasing the animals, or introducing objects or sounds that may startle or distress the animals.  All Zoo animals are on a carefully structured diet.  Please do not feed the Zoo animals as introducing outside food can harm them.  There is a no feed policy except in designated areas such as the waterfowl pond or when under the supervision of Zoo staff.

Prohibited Items:  For the health and safety of our guests, staff and animals, the following items are prohibited:

  • weapons or fireworks
  • alcohol or illicit materials (except alcoholic beverages purchased and/or served on Zoo grounds during various special events)
  • bicycles, riding toys, skates, skate shoes and skateboards
  • balloons, balls and flying toys
  • noise devices
  • drinking straws

Violation of the Code of Conduct:  Members must abide by this Code of Conduct to ensure the safety and well-being of our members, guests, employees, volunteers and animals. Violation may result in the suspension, cancellation and/or revocation of your Membership.  The BPZS reserves the right to terminate or deny your Membership at any time by advising the Member or prospective Member verbally and/or in writing.  Cause for termination may include disrespectful behavior towards or harassment of the animals, staff or guests of the Zoo; inappropriate conduct, including but not limited to, conduct that is disruptive, abusive or violent to the staff, guests or animals; failing to comply with Membership Terms and Conditions; or abusing your Membership privileges.  If your Membership is suspended, cancelled and/or revoked, you are no longer eligible to use the benefits associated with the Membership including Zoo admission, discounts, and special Member events.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

MEMBERSHIPS ARE NOT REFUNDABLE, EXCHANGEABLE or FOR RESALE.
