Endangered Species Day

Saturday, May 19th
11:00am – 2:00pm

Come celebrate Endangered Species Day at the Zoo! This is an opportunity for people of all ages to learn about the importance of protecting endangered species and everyday actions they can take to help protect them. Started in 2006 by the United States Congress, Endangered Species Day is a celebration of the nation’s wildlife and wild places.

Thanks to the Endangered Species Act and the hard work of conservationists and activists, the bald eagle, green sea turtle, American alligator, peregrine falcon, and many other species were kept from disappearing into extinction. Celebrate conservation successes this Endangered Species Day while working to keep up that momentum to stop extinction.

Enjoy Science On a Sphere® presentations, Nature Play activities and special keeper chats!
