Zoo Crew 2014

Looking for a fun way for the kids to spend part of their summer?

Join us to learn about animals, explore zoo careers, and much more. Each week long program has a balance of outdoor and classroom learning, educational games and activities, and crafts. Programs are offered for ages 5-10. Half day (9:00am-noon) programs are offered for 5 & 6 year olds and full day (9:00am-4:00pm) programs are offered for 7 & 8 and 9 & 10 year olds.  For additional information, please download our 2014 Zoo Crew Brochure.

Do you know what lives in your backyard? Birds, bunnies and bears – oh my! Join us for a week of fun and games as we discover what lives outside our door and around our state!

Explore the Zoo through the arts. Dance and sing like the animals. Learn about patterns and textures of the natural world through exploration and crafts.

Have you ever wondered about your favorite story book characters’ real life counterparts? Join us as we read some famous stories and learn about the real animal stars!

What does a black bear eat for lunch? Go behind the scenes to see how zookeepers keep our animals healthy!

How would you like to play “Name that Smell”? During this sense-sational week, we’ll explore human senses and their animal counterparts. Do animals have senses that humans don’t? Join us for this sensory journey through the animal kingdom.

How is a frog different from a bird? How are both different from a bear? We’ll be taking a close-up look at the animal world to discover “the inside secrets”. Discover how anatomy holds the key to kinship in the animal kingdom.

Have you ever wondered how a zookeeper starts their day? Would you like to create an animal exhibit like an exhibit designer? Join us for a week of hands-on career exploration.

Wildlife Warriors

Have you ever wondered what it is like to be a scientist/biologist working to protect different species? Now is your chance to find out! Spend your week exploring and getting your hands dirty doing real science projects.

ZSI (Zoo Scene Investigators) 

Do you enjoy a mystery? Come and put your detective skills to work. Learn about animals, piece together clues, and work with your fellow ZSI to crack the case!


Zoo Crew PRicing

Full day Pricing: Members: $200/week; Non-members: $225/week
Half Day Pricing: Members: $125/week; Non-members: $150/week

Sibling or multiple week discount is $25/week.(Families may use one discount or the other, not both.)
Each session has limited space and is closed when filled. A waiting list is kept for each session. A minimum of 5 participants per session is needed to run the program. Registration closes July 8, 2014.
