New Bedford, MA - June 20, 2007 Due to inclement weather on Bear Awareness Day last month, the donation of a new wooden bear to the zoo by artist Ross MacVicar has been rescheduled to this Sunday, June 24th. Mr. MacVicar will begin weather-permitting wood carving demonstrations at 10:30 AM, and will present the new wooden bear at 1:00 PM rain or shine. Visitors will have a chance to be one of the first to see the new carving, and watch the artist create beautiful art out of ordinary stumps of wood. Completed carvings will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the zoo.
