Press Release
Feather Fest

New Bedford, MA - May 9, 2007 Buttonwood Park Zoo is joining hundreds of thousands across the Western Hemisphere in celebrating International Migratory Bird Day by hosting a Feather Fest on Saturday, May 12th. From 1:00 to 4:00 there will be activities, crafts, and more, all free with zoo admission.

International Migratory Bird Day (IMBD) was created in 1993 by individuals at the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center and the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology. Now under the direction of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, IMBD continues to focus attention on one of the most important and spectacular events in the life of a migratory bird-its journey between its summer and winter homes, and encourages bird and habitat conservation. This year's theme is "Birds in a Changing Climate".
